Sure, I could have put up another loan request in the 20-30B range and hoped to get away with the isk before the MD police arrived on the scene.
However, larger uncollateralised loans tend to take longer to fill and so the risk would have been greater. There were also other time constraints due to the fact that the account only had something like 2 days left on it's sub.
I wasn't interested in getting in to a situation where I was having to defend another blatantly obvious alt from RAW23's advanced eyebrow analysis techniques just so I could liberate an extra 25B.
I think it's important to know when to walk away from a failed scam, because time spent trying to salvage this would have been better spent on something else. |

Sorry, I don't mean to give RAW23 all the glory. I'm sure you and the other people who posted wise statements in these threads can figure out how to share the scalp. But I do feel that RAW23's clinical assassination of Blueprint Seller was pretty telling. With the underlying shill character totally discredited, he then had total traction on any accusations he cared to make about Speculation Dave.

I think this is particularly relevant nowdays when there isn't really any auditing going on and good critical analysis is scarce. The barriers to MD scamming are set quite low and the most significant problem you have to overcome is that there isn't much investment activity... a problem for legitimate borrowers and scammers alike.
I wouldn't advise relying too much on eyebrow analysis, because I can click the randomize button just as easily as anyone else! |
